Tiny Away pioneers crypto payments in the travel and tourism sector

Tiny Away

Tiny Away, a global provider of eco-friendly tiny house accommodations, has announced the introduction of cryptocurrency payments across its international portfolio, positioning the brand at the forefront of financial innovation within the travel sector — even as the space grapples with hype and influencer lawsuits —

Through an integration with Coinbase Commerce, guests can now book Tiny Away stays using leading cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Payments are automatically converted into USD Coin (USDC), a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, ensuring price stability for both guests and the company — part of the same tokenized-finance shift behind Bybit’s QCDT collateral —

This move not only responds to the growing number of crypto users seeking practical, real-world applications for their digital assets, but also delivers clear operational advantages for the business. Crypto payments enable near-instant cross-border settlement while significantly reducing merchant fees associated with traditional payment methods, which can reach up to 4% per transaction — often managed through Web3 wallets —

Tiny Away Co-Founder, Jeff Yeo, said “This adoption expands payment options for our users, enhances transparency, and keeps pace with the way money is evolving globally. But while accepting crypto allows us to cater to a rapidly growing market segment, we’re also improving our own operational efficiency.”

“By avoiding merchant fees on all transactions using cryptocurrency as well as delays on cross-border payments, we can reinvest those efficiencies back into creating better guest experiences and expanding our network of sustainable tiny house stays.”

Tiny Away

Founded in 2017, Tiny Away operates a collection of innovatively designed tiny houses in typically rural and scenic locations around the world. Its move into crypto payments follows increasing consumer demand for digitally integrated travel offerings while reflecting Tiny Away’s overall strategy of keeping ahead of financial and technological change.

“Our tiny house experiences have been built around innovation and sustainability, so embracing cryptocurrency has been a natural next step for us in connecting with travellers who share our belief in hassle-free, forward-thinking living,” Yeo concluded.

Travellers can now book their next stay at any of Tiny Away’s curated collection of eco-conscious, immersive getaways — and pay using either cryptocurrency or traditional methods via the Tiny Away website, www.tinyaway.com.
