Singapore-based payments company dtcpay announced on September 18, 2026 that its Series A funding round has reached US$25 million, with SBI Group joining as a strategic investor. The financing will support the company’s expansion in stablecoin payments, including its product suite, merchant network and entry into additional regulated markets.
Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India led the round in April 2026. SBI Group is investing through SBI Ventures Asset Pte Ltd and the SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund. Genedant Capital and existing investor Kwee Liong Tek also participated, according to the company’s announcement.
Building Stablecoin Payment Infrastructure
Founded by Alice Liu and Band Zhao, dtcpay develops infrastructure that allows businesses and individuals to accept, store and transact in stablecoins. Its real-time swap engine supports settlement between stablecoins and fiat currencies. The company says its approach reduces the delays and intermediary costs associated with traditional cross-border payment routes.
Its products include a Digital Payment Token point-of-sale solution for in-store stablecoin acceptance. An integration with WalletConnect extends support to more than 700 crypto wallets, while its Visa Infinite card enables spending across fiat currencies and stablecoins at more than 150 million merchant locations worldwide, the release states.
dtcpay has also partnered with BNB Chain on practical stablecoin adoption. The company cites Metro’s rollout of stablecoin payments in Singapore and hospitality partnerships including Capella Singapore as examples of its use in everyday commerce.
Funding to Support Products and Market Expansion
The additional capital will help dtcpay expand its merchant network and continue developing its product roadmap during the remainder of 2026. Planned improvements include a revamped business portal for enterprise clients and new consumer features in the dtcpay app.
The company says it holds a Major Payment Institution licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and an Electronic Money Institution licence in Luxembourg. It also reports licences and registrations in Hong Kong, Australia, the United States and Canada. These permissions form part of its strategy to expand payment services across licensed jurisdictions.
Regulated payment infrastructure is central to the company’s expansion plans. For readers following the wider compliance discussion, Toktimes has also examined KYC and retail investors.
Investors Bring Regional Networks and Financial Expertise
Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India is part of Vertex Holdings, a wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings. dtcpay said Vertex’s experience in scaling technology businesses would support its development in Southeast Asia.
SBI Group’s businesses span banking, securities, insurance, asset management and digital assets. Its participation adds a Japanese financial services partner to dtcpay’s shareholder base. The SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund was launched in 2022 with NTUitive and Kyobo Securities to invest in early-stage digital transformation and platform businesses across Southeast Asia.
Genedant Capital, a Singapore-based fund management firm, reports more than US$2 billion in assets under management and advisory. The firm brings relationships with family offices, private wealth investors and institutions across Asia. Existing investor Kwee Liong Tek increased his commitment as part of the round.
Leadership Sets Out the Next Phase
Founder and CEO Alice Liu said the financing was intended to change how money moves across borders. She described SBI Group’s backing, together with support from Genedant Capital and Kwee, as a means to accelerate the development of compliant stablecoin payment infrastructure.
Group Chairman Band Zhao said the next stage would focus on scaling infrastructure, strengthening relationships with global financial institutions and entering new regulated markets.
Eiichiro So, CEO of SBI Ven Capital, highlighted dtcpay’s licensing-led approach, user experience and products for institutions, companies and individuals. He described the investment as the start of a strategic partnership and linked it to SBI’s wider interest in digital asset infrastructure connecting Japan and Southeast Asia.
Genedant Capital CEO Quek How Jiang said the firm would use its network of strategic investors and industry relationships to support dtcpay’s commercial expansion and international growth.
The release also highlighted dtcpay’s Disruptor of the Year and Fintech of the Year awards at the 2025 Asia Fintech Awards, and Alice Liu’s Fintech Mentor of the Year recognition at the 2025 SFF FinTech Excellence Awards.
The funding announcement places regulated stablecoin payments at the centre of dtcpay’s next phase. Its stated priorities are broader merchant adoption, improved business and consumer products, and expansion into markets where it can operate within local licensing requirements.
